King/Queen Of The Hop, 2015 SCBF Series

New for the 2015 SCBF season we created the King Of The Hop and Queen Of The Hop series. So your wondering what is this series about? Ok check it out, at each stop on the SCBF Tour we have a bunch of competitions that require riders to jump high, bunny hop high or bunny hop long. to add some spice we separated each competition by bike type and and age group. Each competition will be run like heats that riders can accumulate points depending on their standing. The top three riders with the highest points will get an award and the title King or Queen of The Hop.

To make things fair we separated the competitors into age groups. 6-9 year olds, 10-14, 15-34, 35&Over. Males will be competiting for King Of The Hop and Females will be competing for Queen Of The Hop.

Riders can compete in as many competitions as they like to accumulate points. The more competitions you compete in the more points you get.

POINTS:
1st Place= 10 points,
2nd place and above= 1point

KING and QUEEN of the Hop awards will be given out to the top three total point leaders of any age.

SCBF #3, 16&Over High Jump, Results

The 16& over High Jump competition was a nice battle between some good riders. The multi talented James Zajd, super fast Andrew Townsend, Thomas Townsend and Devin Stickles. 15 year old Devin wanted to be moved up to this group because he thought he could hang and 14 year old Thomas wanted to be moved up to this class so he could beat his brother Andrew lol! When the dust settled Devin on made it past 3ft, Andrew with that long Haro Carbon on made up to 4.5ft, Thomas tied with his brother at 4.5 feet and Zigity came home with the win at 5ft!

SCBF #3, 15& Under High Jump, Results

We had another epic battle go down for our High Jump competition at our Hampton BMX Track stop of the SCBF Tour. All the young riders were launching their bikes of the last set of doubles and put on an amazing show for the crowd. A lot of the older riders were surprised at how high the young-ins were going it was awesome to watch. Unfortunately our by James Melfie got a lil too caught in the moment and came speeding down the last straight and as soon as he tried pull up for the jump he wound up doing a nasty dead sailor and landed almost face first to flat. James got broke off pretty bad but he’ll be back to ride again 4sho, that kid is tough as nails!

Mike Doherty was having issues with his bike all during the high jump comp. for his first run his tire caught a flat in mid air then after getting his flat fixed he went for another run and his tire shifted before he hit the jump. But all that drama was worth it because he wound up winning the competition. It was definitely exciting to watch!

Brant Sadenwater Wins A Nutcase Helmet In High Jump Jrs (@NutcaseHelmets)

13 year old Brant Sadenwater had the crowd hyped in the High Jump Jrs competition at stop#2 of the SCBF at Shoreham BMX track in Long Island. He was boosting so high that after he won the Jrs comp we put him in the adults High jump competition to see how much higher he could go, he was awesome to watch. Our awesome sponsor Nutcase Helmets sent us Helmets for the winner of the High Jump Jrs competition at each stop on the SCBF Tour starting with Stop#2 and Brant was the first rider to win one! Congrats Brant!

Fat Bike High Jump Comp Debuts At SCBF Stop#2, June 21st

Another new competition added to the Sugar Cayne Bike Fest Tour is the Fat Bike High Jump competition!! The Fat Bike community on Long Island is big and we’d love to see you guys come down and compete for some Fat Bike high Jump glory! We wanna see how high you can take em! It’s all going down at Shoreham BMX track in long Island N.Y. June 21st! The Fat Bike High Jump competition is a series that will be included for each stop of the SCBF tour. Full face and open face helmets are allowed plus you need a long sleeve shirt or t-shirt with elbow pads and long pants or shorts with knee and shin pads. Registration is from 9am-11:30am, $10

Women’s High Jump Competition Debuts At SCBF Stop#2, June 21st

New for stop #2 at the Sugar Cayne Bike Fest is the Women’s High Jump competition!! We couldn’t let the guys have all the fun so we added a high jump competition for women of all ages to compete in. The jump we’ll be using is a table top jump which is a universal jump for any skill level. Your allowed to ride a BMX, fat bike, cyclocross, MTB, Trial or fixed gear bike for this competition. Full face and open face helmets are allowed and you must wear a long sleeve shirt or T-shirt with elbow pads and Long pants or shorts with knee and shin pads.

Sugar Cayne Bike Fest EHT Day 2 High Jump Highlights

Highlights from the Juniors and Adult High Jump competition on day #2(Sunday) at the Sugar Cayne Bike Fest at Egg Harbor Township BMX track in New Jersey. First up were the Jrs competition and it was a nice battle between Eric Russ and Jayden Crespo. They went into overtime as both of them knocked down the height pole but in the overtime round Jayden edged out Eric with a height of 45″. In the Adult round we saw a battle between OG’s Jason Pilato, Cliff Ecker and young-in Thomas Sandfort battle for height supremacy. All the riders were boosting over the pole, Jason and Cliff were giving the young gun Thomas a run for his money. Jason was almost in contention but he couldn’t get that back tire up high enough and hit the height pole. Then Cliff reached his height limit but he put on a good fight maxing out at a height of 49″. But it was the Thomas Sandfort show as he easily cleared the 53″ mark and won the comp.
It was a fun even to watch and we’ll be doing it again at our next stop at Shoreham BMX Track in Long Island New York June 21st for stop#2, be there!
